Our stay at this charming bed and breakfast was absolutely delightful. The owners, Fiona and Richard, were incredibly welcoming and made sure every aspect of our visit was perfect. We arrived late in the evening and they kindly waited up for us, ensuring we had a smooth check-in. The location of the property in the beautiful countryside provided a calm and peaceful atmosphere that was exactly what we were looking for. The rooms were comfortable and cozy, making us feel right at home. In the mornings, we were treated to a delicious breakfast with a variety of tasty options including croissants, baguettes, and a mouthwatering quiche. The hosts even offered to prepare dinner for us if needed. We appreciated their hospitality and the effort they put into making our stay memorable. The surrounding area is rich in history, and Fiona and Richard were a wealth of knowledge, sharing interesting stories about the region and the farm's past. Despite the remote location, we were still able to easily access popular tourist destinations such as Bayeux and Caen. We were sad to leave and wished we could have stayed longer to fully enjoy the beautiful surroundings and the warmth of our hosts. we highly recommend this charming bed and breakfast for anyone visiting the area.

We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful countryside retreat. The historic buildings and peaceful surroundings made for a perfect getaway. The big breakfast provided was a great way to start the day, and the fact that they had a separate kitchen for guests was a real bonus as vegetarians and vegans. The excellent wifi and feeling of safety added to our overall enjoyment. And we can't forget to mention the wonderful owner, Fiona, who went above and beyond to solve any issues we had, including a problem with the bedding.
We felt very much at home during our stay and had no complaints at all.

The room we stayed in at La Petite Houssaye was incredibly cozy and charming. I loved the private entrance, it made me feel like I had my own little hideaway. The flat-screen TV was perfect for winding down after a long day of exploring. The tile/marble floor added a touch of elegance, and the dining area was convenient for enjoying a meal or two. Having an electric kettle and tea/coffee maker in the room was a bonus, as I love starting my day with a warm cup of coffee. the room had a warm and welcoming ambiance that made me feel right at home.
The only thing that I liked less about the room was the seating area in the twin room. It wasn't as comfortable as I would have liked, but I understand that others might still find it suitable.

Loved the continental/buffet breakfast, especially the BBQ in the garden - nothing says "good morning" like grilled sausages! Free bikes were great for exploring, and the shared lounge was perfect for relaxing. Oh, and did I mention the delightful terrace?
I was devastated by the lack of mosquitoes. Absolutely devastated.

Guests rave about the friendly and helpful hosts, who provide varied and plentiful breakfasts and even evening meals upon request. the rural setting offers a peaceful retreat, with kitchen facilities available for those who want to prepare their own meals.
While the location offers a serene getaway, some may find the rural setting too far from larger towns or cities.

As longer term business travelers, we really appreciated the excellent breakfast options and the fully equipped kitchen facilities for preparing our own food. The hosts, Fiona and Richard, were extremely friendly and offered exceptional assistance with any queries we had. Their language skills in English and French were outstanding. The location, although rural, is conveniently close to a large town. We would confidently recommend this property for a European break.
Felt safe, nothing too much trouble.
